Description:
Taunton Town Council is seeking quotations for the professional cleaning and refresh of 55 bus shelters located across Taunton, Somerset.
Scope of works (indicative)
The works are expected to include, but may not be limited to:
• Deep cleaning of bus shelter structures and glazing
• Removal of graffiti and stickers
• Removal of weeds and detritus around and immediately adjacent to shelters
• General wash-down to improve overall appearance
The shelters are located on or adjacent to the public highway. Contractors should therefore be experienced in working in highway environments and hold any relevant accreditations (e.g. NRSWA where required).
At this stage, the Council is seeking budgetary quotations based on the above scope. A schedule of locations can be provided to shortlisted suppliers if required.
Programme
It is crucial that the successful contractor is able to commence works no later than 31 March 2026. Please confirm your availability to meet this requirement within your response.
Information to include in your quotation
Please provide:
• A total cost for the works (with any assumptions clearly stated)
• Confirmation of relevant experience and accreditations
• Proposed methodology for delivering the works safely
• Confirmation of insurance cover
• Earliest possible start date
Quotations should be submitted by 6th February 2026 with a decision aiming to be made on 24th February 2026.
