Description:

The Awarding Authority is sourcing appropriately qualified contractors to submit a quote to provide a daily cleaning service at the Specified Location.
Penlee House Gallery & Museum is a gallery open to the public Monday to Saturday (Monday to Sunday in July to September). The building includes a number of exhibition galleries, a shop, café and offices. The Council wish to recruit a cleaning company to undertake a 3-year contract, with the possibility of extension to 5-years.
Penzance Council requires a suitable, experienced contractor to undertake:
Two hours of daily cleaning every morning 8.30am-10.30am Monday – Friday using below schedule of basis for work.
Two hours of daily cleaning every morning 9.00am-11.00am on Saturdays using below schedule of basis for work.
Two hours of cleaning every Sunday morning from 6 July – 28 September 2025 9.00am-11.00am using below schedule of basis for work.
Monthly mopping of Gallery wooden floors within the two hours using below schedule of basis for work.

In order for Penzance Council to appropriately plan and budget for the subsequent contract, we would require the successful contractor to supply accurate details of:
Service provision including staffing
Method of work
Products to be used
Equipment to be used
Insurance information
Cost breakdown including:
hourly rate for weekdays
hourly rate for weekends
product costs/mark up on products if to be procured by client
equipment hire costs
cost for limited ad hoc additional cleaning
Evidence of having carried out similar pieces of work

12. Other information:Returned quotations for the cleaning contract will be assessed on three main criteria in order to appoint the successful contractor to undertake this work:
Comprehensive explanation on how the contractor will achieve the requirements set out in points 1 – 4 = 30%
Cost = 40%
History/Evidence of having carried out similar pieces of work in the past = 30%
