Description:

The Awarding Authority is looking to engage with industrial cleaning contractors for ongoing cleaning services for the Press, the Wesps, and the Blenders. The cleaning services required involve physically demanding labour and will be conducted in a hot, dusty, and noisy environment. These cleaning services are essential to ensuring the plant can follow an almost 24/7 production schedule. The Press, Wesps, and the Blenders will require their respective cleaning tasks to be completed on a monthly basis and will be scheduled for production downdays and annual maintenance shutdowns where possible, however, unscheduled services may also be required at short notice. A cleaning team of 11 members will typically be required to complete the tasks. The annual maintenance shutdowns are usually 10 days in duration and additional support and cleaning crew members may be required during this period. The cleaning tasks for each of the Press, Wesps, and Blenders will be completed separately with each task requiring their own specific Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS) to be signed. The Press is a long conveyor belt system used to compress the OSB board which results in build ups of oil, grease, and flake which need to be removed. The Wesps are used to control emissions from the manufacturing process by removing particulate matter and high-pressure power washing is required to remove the build up of debris. The Blenders are used to mix in various resins with the OSB flake which results in build ups of hard wax and debris. All cleaning team members will be required to have undertaken safety compliance training including Safe Pass training, manual handling training, and confined space training with other safety training requirements dependent on the specific task. Candidates who are successful at the PPQ stage will be provided with detailed information regarding the cleaning tasks and will be invited to participate in a site visit to view the Press, the Wesps and the Blenders and get an understanding of the environment.
