Safety Accredited Member (SAM) Support Package

SAM is a pre-qualification scheme that allows local authorities, and other organisations identify that you have the minimum standard required under the scheme.

This is a tailor-made Safety Accredited Member (SAM) support scheme that will help Clients find reputable and compliant window cleaning companies; and by having this prestigious accreditation scheme members can easily demonstrate their compliance and give not only their own company’s assurance of health and safety, but to all potentially new and existing clients too.

Through the Federation members have early access to every National window cleaning tender and in order to be considered for these contracts, companies applying must demonstrate that they can meet health and safety standards.

What the SAM support package entails:

There are certain standards that must be achieved; the main principal ‘s being accredited with the IOSH Approved FWC “Cleaning Windows Safely” training in the use of water fed poles and portable ladders – and IOSH Approved “Risk Assessment” training for cleaning windows, gutters and external facades. However, proof of higher IOSH accreditation supersedes the need for the afore-mentioned courses. Annual renewal conditions will apply, in terms of relevant Risk Assessments and Method Statements etc.

As part of our commitment to supporting your business, membership automatically includes access to our Safety Accredited Member (SAM) support package. This programme helps demonstrate that your business meets recognised health and safety standards — a growing expectation in both public sector and commercial contracts.

For members with five or more employees, SAM is now a core element of your membership package. Therefore, you are eligible to apply for certification now at no extra cost beyond the SAM support fee shown on your invoice. Click Here to complete the Level 2 accreditation.

For sole traders and small employers (with 1–4 staff), SAM remains optional. However, you may opt in at any time for the same fee — and gain access to the same accreditation, support and benefits. There is no obligation to apply, but the opportunity is there when you’re ready.

SAM shows you are compliant with health and safety laws and helps improve your business productivity.

Certification includes a SAM certificate, SAM logo and ID card.

You can display the Accredited Logo and Certificate on your website, vehicles & stationery.

You can market your SAM achievement through Window Talk and on social media.

SAM Testimonial

JA Lee Window & General Cleaning Contractors Ltd –

We found SAM relatively easy to achieve because all our operatives had already completed the FWC “Cleaning windows safely course” and we had most of the required documentation in place.

Although we already had “Safe Contractor” we have found that because SAM is a training based Safety in procurement scheme – (as opposed to paper based) it is appreciated by our Commercial Customers as it documents and demonstrates our Companies commitment to Health and Safety. It also puts us out in front when applying for Tenders and Contracts.
